Knight of the Year – Jack Rodman

The 2024-’25 Knight of the Year is Brother Jack Rodman. Jack leads the Knights' kitchen staff during all Knights events at STM and during Parish events supported by the Knights. The Knight of the Year award was presented at the Council’s Celebration Dinner on August 8th.

Family of the Year – Dave and Sue Bracy

The 2024-’25 Family of the Year is Brother Dave and Sue Bracy.  Dave and Sue have provided the leadership in coordinating the Council’s social events over the last several years. The Family of the Year award was presented at the Council’s Celebration Dinner on August 8th.

December Knight of the Month – Jim Meyd

PGK Jim Meyd was presented with the Knight of the Month Award. The Grand Knight thanked Jim for leading various activities both within our Council and our parish. Most recently, we thank Jim for his work in coordinating the Parish Christmas Party.

December Family of the Month – John and Connie Regan

John and Connie were selected Family of the Month. John and Connie volunteer weekly at the parish food pantry, where they help serve more than 100 families each week.

2025 K of C State Convention

The 2025 Florida State Convention was held in Jacksonville, Florida over the Memorial Day weekend. The 283 delegates representing approximately 90 council districts attended.  District 51 was represented by Jon Engel (District Deputy), Scott Deahna (Council # 7826) and Joe Gomez (Council # 13307).

The highlight of the Saturday morning session was the presentation of the “council awards”. During the council award session, the St. Thomas More council #7826 won the following 5 awards: First Place – Vocations Support; Second Place – Family Activities; Second Place – Faith Activities; Third Place – Community Activity and additionally, Altar Servers of the Year.

However, the highlight for Council # 7826 was the announcement by the State Deputy that our council had won the “State Council of the Year” Award. The State Deputy stated that our council scored high in each of the four program categories (Faith, Family, Community and Life). The State Deputy then stated, “These guys did it all”

Congratulation to all the members of Council # 7826.  Job well done.

Council #7826 Receives the 2024-2025 STAR Council Award 

St. Thomas More Knights of Columbus Council 7826 has received the distinction of Star Council, the international organization’s top award for local councils.

The Star Council Award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership, promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities.
