GK Scott Deahna, PGK Ralph Neller with Jack Rodman. | Knight of the Year – Al FerrignoThe evaluation for Knight of the Year is based on a Knight’s involvement within the Council, the Knight’s involvement within the Parish, and the Knight’s involvement within the Community. This year the council officers felt that a particular Knight has made significant contributions to the parish and the parish community. The 2025-’26 Knight of the Year is Brother Al Ferrigno. Al made a significant contribution to the Parish by fabricating the Stations of the Cross for the Church Prayer Garden. Al leads the Parish Trivia and the new Bingo social activities. Al is also an active supporter of the Special Olympics organization.Thank you, Al, for your support to the Parish and the Parish Community. |
| Family of the Year – Jim and Beth MeydThe 2025-’26 Family of the Year is Jim and Beth Meyd. Jim currently leads the Good of the Order Committee and the Exemplification Degree Team. Also, Jim leads the Parish Christmas Party Committee and is the council lead for the STM Food Pantry Leadership Team.Jim and Beth sponsor a Council Cardinal Mooney scholarship. Jim & Beth are Parish Hospitality Ministers. Beth has been the leader of the STM Prayer Shawl ministry, which provides prayer shawls to anyone in need. Beth is also a volunteer at the parish office, filling in as needed. Jim & Beth participate in prayer walks and attend pregnancy center fundraisers in support of the right to life. Their efforts with the food pantry, the prayer shawl ministry, the scholarship fund, council fundraising events, and the right to life ministry have been well noted. Congratulation Jim and Beth! |

| July Knight of the Month – Ted Kovacic
Ted has been selected as the September Knight of the Month. Ted attends every council meeting. Ted is a member of the Food and Beverage Committee. Ted helps prepare and serve the council meeting refreshments and the Council pancake breakfasts. Also, Ted is a regular participant at the monthly Prayer walk at Planned Parenthood. Thank you, Ted, for your service and outstanding support for the Knights of Columbus, the parish, and the community. |
July Family of the Month – Corey and Jean DeVitoCorey and Jean have been selected as the September Family of the Month. Corey served as a council Trustee for three years and is a member of the council's scholarship committee. Corey coordinates the council's Citizens with Disabilities fund raiser. Corey and Jean organize the council's coffee and donuts events. Jean volunteers as a parish money counter. Thank you, Corey and Jean for your service and outstanding support for the Knights of Columbus and the parish. |

The 2026 Florida State Convention was held in Orlando, FL. over the Memorial Day weekend. Delegates representing 72 council districts attended. District 51 was represented by Jon Engel (District Deputy), Scott Deahna, and Michael Mercandetti (Council #7826), Joe Gomez and Robert Ward (Council #13307).
The highlight of the Saturday session was the presentation of the “Council Awards”. During the Council Award session, the St. Thomas More Council #7826 won the following 3 awards: Second Place State Service Programs Award - Life; Second Place Faith Activities Division 3; Third Place – Vocations Support Division 3.
