Knight of the Year – Jack Rodman

The 2024-’25 Knight of the Year is Brother Jack Rodman. Jack leads the Knights' kitchen staff during all Knights events at STM and during Parish events supported by the Knights. The Knight of the Year award was presented at the Council’s Celebration Dinner on August 8th.

Family of the Year – Dave and Sue Bracy

The 2024-’25 Family of the Year is Brother Dave and Sue Bracy. Dave and Sue have provided the leadership in coordinating the Council’s social events over the last several years. The Family of the Year award was presented at the Council’s Celebration Dinner on August 8th.

June Knights of the Month – Dan Martin

Dan received the June Knight of the Month Award. He quietly supports the council in many ways. Dan supports the monthly newsletter publication and the new council website development. Dan is co-chairman of the Good of the Order committee, committee chair for the pancake breakfast, and volunteers a significant amount of time supporting the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Dan also contributed to this year’s Scholarship fund and is a parish Eucharist minister.

Thank you, Dan, for your service and outstanding support for the Knights of Columbus, the parish and the community.

June Family of the Month – Kevin and Judy Deady

Kevin and Judy have coordinated the council’s social activities during the last fraternal year and are continuing to plan our council socials.

Judy coordinates the meal servers during Knights and Parish meal events. Judy and Kevin have been active participants in the council’s monthly Right to Life Prayer Walks. Kevin volunteered as the Councils Chancellor during the last fraternal year. Kevin’s work as Chancellor supported the council achieving the Star Council Award.

2026 K of C State Convention

The 2026 Florida State Convention was held in Orlando, FL. over the Memorial Day weekend. Delegates representing 72 council districts attended. District 51 was represented by Jon Engel (District Deputy), Scott Deahna, and Michael Mercandetti (Council #7826), Joe Gomez and Robert Ward (Council #13307).

The convention commenced Friday afternoon with a “parade of banners” followed by a series of FL State Council Officer and Committee Reports. Friday concluded with Caucuses to elect delegates to the to the Supreme Council Council.

The highlight of the Saturday session was the presentation of the “Council Awards”. During the Council Award session, the St. Thomas More Council #7826 won the following 3 awards: Second Place State Service Programs Award - Life; Second Place Faith Activities Division 3; Third Place – Vocations Support Division 3.
